A new approach to map lightning channels based on low-frequency interferometry

A purely interferometric algorithm, named imaging has been developed for mapping lightning in the low-frequency band. The algorithm locates a source by computing three-dimensional correlation of signals arriving at pair sensors, and then summing correlations all antenna pairs. This does not locate solving non-linear time-of-arrival (TOA) equations, instead is located global maxima total correlation. map produced one intracloud flash was compared with that hybrid interferometric-TOA algorithm. can more sources than produce complete maps.
